Description
Coaching Positions for Junior Mens Team at Los Gatos Rowing Club
Located on the beautiful Lexington Reservoir two miles from Los Gatos, California,
Los Gatos Rowing Club serves more than 150 junior and 125 adult rowers.
Founded in 1979, the club provides competitive sweep and sculling programs
for rowers ranging from novice to elite and from juniors to veteran
masters.
The club is currently seeking coaches for the men’s junior novice program
as well as an assistant varsity men’s coach.
The novice and varsity programs for men typically each consist of about 35
to 45 young men of high school age. The assistant coach will work in tandem
with the lead men’s coach to implement a robust land and water based
training program which runs from September through May. The Fall Season
focuses heavily on training and the Spring Season on regatta competitions.
Varsity teams compete locally as well as nationally at such races as Head
of the Lake ,Head of the Charles, and the San Diego Crew Classic.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience with coaching junior
rowers although several years of rowing experience may qualify. Candidates
should have good communication skills and the ability to interface easily
with high school rowers.
Compensation will be commensurate with the position applied for and the
level of experience.

young women of high school age with no prior experience in rowing. The
assistant coach will work in tandem with the lead novice women’s coach to

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with coaching junior
rowers although several years of rowing experience may qualify.

Founded in 1979, the club provides competitive sweep and sculling programs
for rowers ranging from novice to elite and from juniors to veteran
masters.
The club is currently seeking an experienced coach for the masters program
which encompasses various programs ranging from novice/learn to row to
competitive teams for both men and women. The ideal candidate will have
specific experience coaching masters especially on the intermediate,
competitive and high performance levels.
This is an opportunity for a highly motivated, organized, and energetic
coach to provide structure for the overall masters program while at the
same time providing coaching for intermediate through high performance
levels. Duties include implementing a robust training program for land and
water as well as preparing rowers for competitions locally, nationally, and
abroad.
In addition to coaching experience, qualifications should include good
organizational and communication skills and a high level of enthusiasm for
working with master rowers.
Compensation is negotiable.
